Tahiti Island retreat

Origin: Latin- vacare

Meaning: to be unoccupied

The bustling busyness of a typical vacation flies in the face of the word’s original meaning.  But there is a place of rejuvenation and relaxation out there.  A place with overwater bungalows perched in a lagoon so crystalline blue your soul will sigh.  A place where you can be luxuriously and perfectly unoccupied.  That place can be found on  two jewels of French Polynesia: Bora Bora and Mo’orea.

Those lucky enough to have traveled to Bora Bora aren’t likely to forget anytime soon the pink glow of the island sunset or the way the sea changes from sapphire to turquoise and back again.  That may be why U.S. News & World Report named Bora Bora the #3 best island (and that may be two spots too low!) in the world. http://travel.usnews.com/Rankings/Best_Islands_in_the_World/

Bora Bora’s best resort is the The Four Seasons.  It offers beautiful bungalows and spacious hideaways nestled around Bora Bora’s lagoon and its outer beaches.  The overwater bungalow suites perch on stilts above aquamarine water, while the beachfront villa estates stretch along a semi-private white sands beach.  No matter from which window you look, the teal lagoon and majestic Mount Otemanu are perfectly framed.  And the resort is quiet, perfect for lounging beachside all day or drifting through the read-sleep-eat-play cycle.

However, there is still plenty to do in Bora Bora.  I would recommend a snorkel tour of the lagoon to feed the sharks (Don’t worry; it’s safe!) or a 4×4 Jeep tour of the island to check out some breathtaking views and to brave the backroad trails.

Another gorgeous option in French Polynesia, just a mere 30-minute ferry ride from the main island of Tahiti, is beautiful Mo’orea, where we recently hosted a large incentive group.  The Hilton Mo’orea Lagoon Resort and Spa was just what the doctor ordered for this group of top-selling health insurance brokers.  We enjoyed staying in our overwater bungalows, basking in the Tahitian sun, snorkeling with rays and sharks, and enjoying a beachside lunch on a secluded private island.

Nothing can compete with celestial sunsets, verdant peaks, coral beaches, and aqua seas for rejuvenating the weary worker’s heart.  When big goals are achieved, your team deserves a big reward.

Check out Bora Bora or Mo’orea for your next incentive event because rejuvenating relaxation is the perfect reward.
